Automated Scorecards

Scorecard Automation lets you build a Scorecard that automatically and dynamically populates based on criteria you define, so you never have to curate your list again manually. A single automation can now include both Key Results and KPIs on the same scorecard. This is especially useful for team scorecards that shouldn't have to be reset every quarter.

Create an Automated Scorecard

  1. Click Create in the top navigation (or New > Scorecard from the Scorecard landing page).

  2. In the right-side edit panel, click Create Automation.

  3. In the Filters modal, set criteria in the Include KRs section, the Include KPIs section, or both.

  4. Click Save to apply your automation.

  5. Optionally click the Columns tab to add, remove, or reorder displayed attributes.

  6. Give your scorecard a title and share it with your team.

The Filters modal: two sections

The Filters modal has two independent sections, both always visible:

  • Include KRs that match the following criteria

  • Include KPIs that match the following criteria

Each section has its own Add filter button, its own filter rows, and its own Clear all link. The two sections are fully independent - filters in one do not affect the other. Within a section, all filters apply together (AND): a KR must satisfy every active filter in the KR section to appear, and a KPI must satisfy every active filter in the KPI section. A field you've already added is greyed out in that section's Add filter dropdown. Leaving a section empty simply means no filter of that type is applied.

KR filter highlights

Use any combination of filters to build a dynamic KR view. Popular options include:

  • Team - show KRs belonging to one or more specific teams

  • RAG Status - surface at-risk, on-plan, or above-plan results

  • Freshness - find KRs that are overdue for an update

  • Time Period - filter by fiscal year, quarter, or a custom date range

  • Contributor - filter by KR owner or updater

  • Tags - group results by tag

  • Objective Keyword / KR Keyword - match by name or phrase

Adding multiple filters narrows your results - for example, "All at-risk KRs for the Marketing team in Q2 that haven't been updated recently."

KPI filter fields

The KPI section offers filters mapped from the KPI Detail page:

  • Owner: the KPI owner

  • Co-Owners: one or more co-owners

  • Data Provider: one or more data providers

  • Team: one or more teams

  • Type: Personal or Team

  • Cadence: Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, or Daily

  • Monitored As: Just tracking, More is better, Less is better, Stay above, Stay below, or Stay between

  • Measured As: Number or Percentage (%)

  • Last Updated: more than / less than X days ago

  • Never Updated: True or False

  • Status: Open or Archived

Match count and the 200-row limit

As you edit filters, a live count in the Advanced options header shows the breakdown by type: "X Key Results and Y KPIs meet criteria."
It updates instantly as you add, remove, or change filters in either section.

A single scorecard can hold at most 200 rows total (KRs and KPIs combined). If your filters match more than 200 items, the count still reflects the true total, so you can see the size of the set. When the automation runs, it adds the first 200 matching rows in the current sort order.

Advanced customization

In the Advanced options section, three toggles control behaviour:

  • Add items automatically: matching KRs and KPIs are added to the scorecard. Applies to both types.

  • Remove items automatically: KRs and KPIs that no longer match are removed. Applies to both types.

  • Auto-sort items based on OKR order: orders rows to match the OKR platform's sort order. Applies to KRs only; turn it off to arrange rows manually via drag and drop.

These toggles work independently, so you can mix and match - for example, have items added and removed automatically while keeping your own custom row order.

How rows are added and removed

KR filters evaluate against your KR pool. KPI filters evaluate against the KPIs you can access - you can only auto-include KPIs from teams you belong to, or teams marked visible org-wide. KPI rows are added when they first match all active KPI filters and removed when they no longer match.

If you manually add a row, the automation stops only when the added row's type is one the automation manages:

Important: Once automation stops, filter changes won't refresh the rows

If a scorecard's automation status shows Inactive, changing the filter criteria in the Filters modal and clicking Apply will not update the scorecard's rows.

To get your new filter criteria to take effect, toggle Add items automatically and Remove items automatically off and back on. This re-activates the automation and refreshes the rows to match your current filters.
