How can I troubleshoot display and update issues on my WorkBoard scorecard?

How to Troubleshoot Display and Update Issues on Your WorkBoard Scorecard

WorkBoard scorecards are essential tools for tracking Key Results (KRs) and their associated metrics. However, users may encounter issues with the display of KR details or the updating of scorecard data. This guide provides solutions to common problems and best practices for managing your scorecard effectively.

Common Issues with Scorecards

  1. Missing KR Details: Fields such as KR Name, Owner, and other details may not appear on the scorecard, even though actual and target values are displayed.

  2. Outdated Quarterly Targets: The scorecard may not reflect the latest quarterly target, even when the KR itself shows the correct target.

Troubleshooting Display Problems

Missing KR Details

If your scorecard does not display KR Name, Owner, or related details, the issue may be due to the Key Result not being set up as a fiscal-year (FY) KR. WorkBoard scorecards rely on FY KR time periods to populate these fields. To resolve this:

  1. Add an FY KR to the same group as the existing KR.

  2. Once the FY KR is added, the missing details such as KR Name and Owner will populate automatically on the scorecard.

Updating Scorecard Data

Outdated Quarterly Targets

Scorecards in WorkBoard do not auto-update while you are actively viewing them. They refresh only between navigations or when manually refreshed. To ensure your scorecard reflects the latest data:

  1. Locate the refresh icon on the scorecard toolbar at the top right.

  2. Click the refresh icon to manually update the scorecard.

  3. After refreshing, the scorecard will display the latest quarterly target values from the KR.

Best Practices for Scorecard Management

  • Always ensure that KRs are set up with the correct time periods (e.g., fiscal year) to avoid display issues.

  • Regularly refresh your scorecard to ensure it reflects the most up-to-date data.

  • Familiarize yourself with the scorecard toolbar and its features for efficient management.

By following these troubleshooting steps and best practices, you can ensure your WorkBoard scorecard functions optimally and provides accurate, actionable insights.
