Overview
This article explains how an IT Policy admin connects Jira, Salesforce, and Azure DevOps data to Agent Global Data and decides who can use it. To learn how Agent Global Data works, see Agent Global Data.
Before You Begin
Note: Connecting a data source through Agent Global Data requires the IT Policy role in WorkBoard.
The IT Policy admin syncs data using their own account in each source system. Only data that this account can access is available to sync.
We recommend connecting with a dedicated service account rather than a personal account. That keeps the connection stable if someone changes roles or leaves, and lets you control exactly which data the connection can reach.
For each connection, the admin chooses exactly who can use it by selecting specific people, teams, or groups. Anyone who isn’t selected can’t see or use this data, and it’s never shared with the whole organization by default.
Connect Jira Data
Connecting Jira lets the selected people, teams, or groups see your organization’s projects, epics, and tickets through their agent.
Go to Admin Tools > Agent Global Data > Connectors.
Select Jira, choose an auth option, and complete the sign-in.
Click Add new to create a connection.
Enter a name for the connection and choose how to pull data:
Under Share with, select the people, teams, or groups who should have access.
Review the connection details, then click Finish setup.
Connect Salesforce Data
Connecting Salesforce lets the selected people, teams, or groups understand your organization’s accounts, pipeline, and customer activity through their agent.
Go to Admin Tools > Agent Global Data > Connectors.
Select Salesforce, then click Add new to create a connection.
Choose what to connect: Reports, Accounts, Opportunities, or Leads.
Under Share with, select the people, teams, or groups who should have access.
Review the connection details, then click Finish setup.
Connect Azure DevOps Data
Connecting Azure DevOps lets the selected people, teams, or groups see your organization’s work items through their agent, so they can track execution.
Go to Admin Tools > Agent Global Data > Connectors.
Select Azure DevOps, then click Add new to create a connection.
Choose specific work items, or connect a saved query.
Under Share with, select the people, teams, or groups who should have access.
Review the connection details, then click Finish setup.
Syncing isn’t instant. Newly connected or newly shared data can take a few hours to become fully available to an agent.
