Executive Brief

The Executive Brief answers the questions leaders ask most: are we on track, where is money at risk, and what needs a decision from me.

Brief tab

Four cards each answer one standing question, with a link to the detail behind it:

Card

What it tells you

Are we on track?

The share of initiatives on plan through the latest figures, and which portfolio carries the risk

Where is money at risk?

Whether any initiative has spent more than its plan

What needs me?

How many decisions are waiting on you, and which

What needs a look?

Any initiative meaningfully over its plan

  • Spend vs plan: monthly bars show plan and actual, summed across every initiative you can see, with Over plan highlighted. Months after the latest reported month show plan only.

  • Initiative health: counts initiatives as On plan, Watch or At risk. Select a count to see those initiatives.

  • This morning's read: a short summary of the same figures, with chips for what's over plan, under plan or waiting on you. Select a chip (↗) to ask the Portfolio Agent about it.

  • Ask the Portfolio Agent. Ready-made questions, such as Which initiatives will miss this quarter?, Where can I release budget? and What did we get for the spend?. Each one opens your agent workspace in a new tab with the question pre-filled.

Portfolios tab

Every portfolio you can see, with its owner, actual against plan for the reported periods and its health

Expand a portfolio (▾) to see its initiatives, each with its owner, actual against plan and variance.

  • Quick view opens the initiative detail without leaving the Brief.

  • Open initiative → or Open portfolio → takes you to the full page.

Initiative quick view

The quick view shows:

  • Actual to date

  • Plan to date

  • Against plan

  • Periods reported

  • Why it reads this way explains the figure in plain language;

  • Spend by period charts each month: coloured bars are reported actuals, shaded by variance against plan, and grey bars are plan for periods that haven't reported.

Select Open initiative → for the full record.

Decisions tab

"Decisions waiting on you. Each carries what is being asked and the trade-off on either side; approving acts immediately and is audit-logged."

Each card shows the request, how long it has been Waiting, What approving does and the Trade-off.

The actions on each card are:

  • Approve, or Review and decide for a request that you decide on in Intake.

  • Ask for options

  • Defer

  • Ask the agent ↗ to ask the Portfolio Agent about it.
